I had the privilege to visit Egypt last month (April 13, 2008– April 20, 2008)
and it was truly the experience of a lifetime. I had been to the continent of
Africa several times. However, I had never been to Egypt. While in Egypt, I had
the cultural experience of my dreams. I saw and experienced things that I never
imagined. … In addition to all of the fun and excitement, my group had a
fabulous tour guide, Mr. Khaled Lotfy
When we first arrived in Cairo, we
were met by a representative of South Sinai Travel. The representative was
accommodating in helping the group identify our luggage and promptly escorting
us to our bus. Once arriving on the tour bus, all of the ladies on the trip were
pleasantly surprised when they received a bouquet of roses! The look on my
mother’s face when she received her bouquet of roses was one of great
appreciation. While on the bus we were introduced to Khaled. We were told on the
way to our hotel (Intercontinental City Stars), Khaled would travel with us
during our entire stay in Egypt. Again, we were pleasantly surprised because
most of us who had traveled to other countries before received different tour
guides in different cities. We were informed that Khaled would be with us at all
times which brought a great level of comfort to the group.
As we
traveled through Egypt, it was truly amazing that our tour guide was a plethora
of knowledge about the country of Egypt. There was not one question about Egypt
that our group asked Khaled that went unanswered. When we went to the different
temples and stopped in the various cities along the Nile River, we continued to
be amazed at all of the knowledge Khaled had. At times I felt as if he were a
living encyclopedia containing all of the knowledge about Egypt anyone would
ever want to know.
In addition, Khaled’s exceptional knowledge about
Egypt, his personality, sense of humor, and positive attitude were greatly
appreciated. When we were in public places he ensured that all of us were safe
from harm and that everyone was counted for before we moved onto our next
attraction. Khaled also went over and beyond his assignment of being a tour
guide. He held informal information sessions with us about the culture of Egypt,
and presented a wonderful presentation about the Nubians which was of great
interest to our group.
In closing, Khaled made my trip to Egypt a very
enjoyable one. He was able to make the itinerary presented to us come to life
and have more meaning. I have told everyone I know what a wonderful time I had
while visiting Egypt. In addition, I have shared with others how wonderful South
Sinai Travel is and if they are very fortunate, when visiting Egypt, they will
have Mr. Khaled Lotfy as their tour guide. My vacation to Egypt was an
experience of a lifetime.

Having been on a number of educationals in my time I can honestly say hand on
swinging brick ( as I have no heart ) it ranks up there with the best. Please
pass on my sincere thanks to South Sinai Travel who did an excellent job with

guide without his knowledge a lot of the history and culture may have been lost
but he made it so interesting.

I just wanted to say a big thank you for all your help. The agents were not only
amazed by your beautiful country but also extremely impressed with the level of
service South Sinai provide. The assistance at the airport is great, the drivers
on time, the transport good quality and the guide Hani is the best guide I have
ever had. He looked after everyone so well and was a popular member of the
group. I hope we weren't too difficult for him - there were a lot of late
nights!
The Mirage was also a good choice. I think everyone thought the
food excellent and also liked the fact that the boat was fast and so we got to
Edfu in time to visit the temple in the evening with fewer tourists.
All
in all, it was a very special trip. The group of agents are all very well
travelled and so for them to be impressed is no easy task. Most of them have
said it will go down as one of the best trips they've ever had!

Mido was very good at
coordinating everything on our arrival and departure in Cairo, and tracking our
luggage, that eventually caught up with us in Cairo to start the group tour.
Fouad was an amazing addition to our whole trip. In addition to the
group part of the trip, we were fortunate to have Fouad as our private guide for
the Aswan part of our trip. He was extremely knowledgeable, had a fun sense of
humour, and was really good with my children. We all miss him, his sparkling
eyes, his warm smile, and his great laugh.
Nader was also really good
with all the teens on the trip and made it fun for all. The kids say he was
“awesome, very funny, extremely fun, and easy to get along with,…and he likes
‘Pringles’”.

I would like to point out that your Egyptian partners, South Sinai Travel, and
in particular Mr. Mohamed Abdel Hamid, did their best to ensure that we had the
very thorough experience of Egypt. Our Cairo egyptologist, Dina, was
exceptional. Mohamed revised our program in order for us to have an even more
complete and interesting trip. He added Saqquara, Memphis, at the beginning and

I wanted to thank you personally-- and on behalf of WGBH -- for the very
enjoyable and productive trip Heidi, Austin, and I are having.
The
arrangements your team has made have been exceptional. On absolutely every
front, things have been seamless and effortless for us. We realize that for this
to have happened,you, Murad, Magritte and your associates at South Sinai Travel
have had to put in many hours arranging everything for us.
On the ground,
Maged and Ahmed have been so good-natured, extremely skilled, and always willing
to put in an extra effort on our behalf. Ahmed has been very helpful at
translating for us and facilitating the many demands that this kind of shooting
requires. We know that it has not always been easy as he's had to juggle the
requirements and regulations of the Egyptian Security/Police office, the
Antiquities office,and the TV and Press Office.
In addition, both he and
Maged have been very kind and friendly with the kids we are filming, as well as
their families. Filming children is an extremely hard thing to do because the
process can be tedious and demanding at the same time (two things that are
difficult for most children—and adults!!). Fortunately, both Maged and Ahmed
have helped us maintain a very light and fun atmosphere which has been
invaluable to us as we present the lives of Egyptian children. With their help
and support, the kids have not just been great on camera, but they're also
having a good time (as our Heidi, Austin, and me).
In addition, we were very
delighted and touched that Tamer came to see us yesterday despite his busy
schedule. He provided essential support to us in October and November during our
scout,and it was wonderful to have a coffee with him.
We could not be more
pleased with how things are going. And, we are humbly aware that that this is
due in large part to the work of you and your colleagues. So a big thanks to
you. And,of course, thanks to Jim and Kerry at Thomson for facilitating our
efforts from the beginning including making the connection to you.

RE: My recent travels in Egypt
My holiday
travels were booked through Discount Holiday Center, Toronto, Canada, with Mr.
Rafik Bassili and all arrangements in Egypt were handled by your company, South
Sinai Travel.
Today, I would like to thank you for making my holiday such a
wonderful and successful experience. All the guides, drivers and other
assistants South Sinai Travel provided were well qualified and executed their
responsibilities with cheerfulness, promptness and dedication to customer
service. Over the three weeks I traveled in Egypt, I met quite a few of South
Sinai’s representatives and I like to mention some of those who served in an
exceptional manner.
Ibrahim-Ahmed-Mahmoud Ali: He was responsible for all of
my Cairo activities such as airport assistance on my arrival and leaving and
returning from Amman; transfers to sound & light show, sleeper train and
nile dinner cruise; ensuring smooth transfers to the Oasis guide and the
Giza/Alexandria guide.
Ibrahim provided outstanding service and kept me
always informed so I felt very safe that everything was looked after. His
personality is most pleasant and I enjoyed dealing with him.
Magdi: He was
our small group sightseeing guide in Cairo. His enthusiasm and professionalism
gave us a wonderful insight and understanding of Cairo and Egypt. The visit to
the Museum became a highlight because of Magdi’s knowledge. He inspired me to a
private return visit to the Museum on my last free day in Cairo. Fattah: He was
my guide, Walid the driver, to St. Catherine and Mt. Sinai (from Sharm El Sheikh
and return). Fattah’s knowledge of the Sinai area, the Bedouins lifestyle and
anything else I asked him about was amazing. He and Walid were very friendly and
accommodating to my needs. Even though this was a nighttime trip (Mt. Sinai
climb) and I am a single woman, I felt safe all the time; Fattah made sure of
that.
Fattah also arranged for a wonderful young Bedouin guide to help me up
the mountain. His name is Hosny. He was most caring, assisting me any way I
needed, and lots of fun.
Samir: He was my guide to the Oasis and at Bahareya.
He has extensive knowledge of the area, peoples and culture (his wife and child
reside in Bahareya). He made every effort to make this trip enjoyable and it was
a pleasure to be in his company. He made sure that I had the best service at the
Qasr El Bawiti Hotel (this is a beautiful Hotel with very friendly
staff).
Samir also arranged for a driver with a 4x4 truck to explore the
various deserts. This driver was Mahmoud and he and Samir gave me a fantastic
time. They were both determined to “make me happy.”
I will always
remember this Egypt trip as one of my best and exciting travel experiences and
South Sinai Travel and the wonderful Egyptian people have a lot to do with
that.

Best vacation I ever had!
These are some of the words
that members of the Cleopatra group described the trip to Egypt, organized by
SST, from October 19 to November 3, 2007. As such, everyone at SST who
contributed to this success should be very proud. This accomplishment was not
the result of a single person’s efforts but rather the whole team at SST.
Starting with Mr. Khaled, Mr. Mourad and Miss Margrette laying the foundation
for the trip, to Mr. Tamer carrying out the arduous logistical tasks at airports
and hotels, to local SST representatives in Luxor, Aswan and Sharm, to bus
drivers and other people we have come in contact with, to Mr. Nader, the Mirage
1 cruise manager, and all cruise employees, the flowers to the ladies upon
arrival in Cairo, the fruit baskets in hotel rooms, the carefully prepared
personalized itineraries, and finally the star of the show, Mr. Hany Iskandar
(more on Hany later):
it was simply a symphony played to near
perfection!
For that, and on behalf of the entire group, I say thank you
for a wonderful vacation. Special thanks are due to Managing Director Mr. Sameh
Agha who, I know, has kept his fingers on the pulse from the early beginning of
organizing the trip to ensure a memorable vacation for everyone.
And
“memorable” it certainly was.
I asked all members of the group to write
to Mr. Sameh Agha directly to express their individual impressions about the
trip; so you will receive more feedback in the near future.
Finally, a
few words about Hany, our Egyptologist guide.
To the group, Hany was the
face of South Sinai Travel during the entire trip, and what a face it was!
Without exception, everyone was greatly impressed. His knowledge, his delivery,
his attention to details, his enthusiasm about the subject matter, his
flexibility, his desire to ensure all questions are satisfactorily addressed and
individual needs are met, and his communication skills were all the basic
catalyst that rendered the trip a huge success. No words can do justice to
express the group’s satisfaction with Hany. We were certainly fortunate to have
him as our guide and to know him as a person. He is definitely a big asset to
SST and we hope that we expressed our appreciation of him adequately.
So, congratulations to the SST team on a mission that was very well
accomplished!
And, WE CERTAINLY WILL BE BACK!!

We went to Egypt with a company called Travel Egypt on their 12 day fam trip.
The trip was top notch all the way. We highly recommend them for clients
interested in Egypt. Every flight went smoothly because of the help of our South
Sinai Travel representatives. They knew just what to do to make everything go
smoothly, no matter how crowded the airports were. 17 people, 12 days, and not
one piece of misplaced luggage.
We were on The
Mriage , our 5 star Nile cruiser, for four nights. We loved our time on
the river and The Mirage was excellent. We were amazed at how much we enjoyed
the meals on board. The meals were all buffet on the river boat. The offerings
were excellent. Entrees always included a beef, a fish, and a chicken entree
with sauces so delicious that you wanted to try all of them (of course, you
could do just that). There were also wonderful soups and vegetables and
desserts. They had something delicious to suit everyones taste. .
we were
at the Basma Hotel ……. located on the highest
elevation in Aswan. It has a fabulous view of the Nile, the desert, and the
city.
Travel Egypt and South Sinai Travel did a spectacular job. Hotels were
the best, transportation was excellent, the food was fabulous, our guide and
tours had to be the best Egypt has to offer. Melody Oliver and all the staff
treated us royally. They got us through very crowded airport check-ins quickly
and efficiently. We cannot say enough good things about them. We highly
recommend the selling of this product.”
